Jewelweed is by far my most favorite apothecary plant. It is cheery and beautiful, and loaded with beneficial properties. It has a long history and is pretty well studied as far as its medicinal abilities – beyond just that of being used to combat the effects of poison ivy. My Jewelweed salve is made with organic olive oil double infused with wildcrafted jewelweed, plantain, purple dead nettle, home grown comfrey & calendula. Jewelweed sap is a hiker’s number one go-to to treat the itch of poison ivy. Jewelweed also has anti-fungal properties. Plantain is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, purple dead nettle has antiseptic & anti-inflammatory properties. These properties lend themselves well to supporting irritated skin.

I make salves in small batches using wild foraged ingredients. I partner with local beekeepers to provide lovely raw beeswax. Organic oils make this a very wholesome salve.
