Pine tar has been used for generations for everything from sealing wood and horse’s hooves to making soaps and salves.
After quite a bit of research, I was able to find a pine tar that was made by burning pine wood in a closed kiln, keeping it pure and free from creosote or any other impurities.
This makes for a smokey, gooey, chocolate brown tar that is loaded with skin soothing benefits. It has long been used to calm irritated skin and is loved by those with eczema.
I blended this (at 10% usage rate) with loads of cow and goat milk greek yogurt, colloidal oats, and a touch of raw honey – making a smokey, creamy and very bubbly soap. It is scented with Virginian Cedar and Lavender essential oils and it smells just like a campfire.
Ingredients: coconut oil, olive pomace oil, rice bran oil, shea butter, sunflower oil, goat & cow milk greek yogurt, sodium hydroxide (lye), pine tar, essential oils (Virginian cedar, lavender), soy wax, castor oil, raw honey, colloidal oats, citric acid, cocoa butter, sugar, kaolin clay, sea salt.
Net weight 4.5-5oz
Each order comes with a free soap sample!
I make soap in small batches and hand cut each bar. Each bar is unique and there may be slight variations in weight. Hand crafted soap lasts longer when allowed to dry in between uses.
